Term 1 Week 7
Monday: Ms Malyanah (pardon me for spelling mistakes) came to teach us instead of Mr Chua. She teached us a type of poem called sonnet. She teached us a sonnet of William Shakespeare called,"Shall I compare thee to a summers day?" She told us to form groups of four. I teamed up with Karen, Sandy (or was it Kellynn?) and PeiQi. Ms Malyanah then gave us a letter. There was strips of paper of the sonnet inside. Shse instructed us to rearrange the sentences into the proper one. We took a long time to complete it. The other groups was fast. Despite the difficulties we faced, Ms Malyanah gave us a lot of hints on the projector. We finally managed to rearrange the sentences correctly. We jumped for joy. She gave us a worksheet about sonnet before the lessons ended.
Wednesday: We had remedial lessons on literature. We went to the NE library and Ms Malyanah grouped 2 Dynamic with 2 Thinking. I was grouped with Zhi Xin, Hakim, Doreen, Timothy and another girl from 2 Thinking. (Can't remember her name, sorry). Ms Malyanah gave us two worksheet. One was on the character traits of Portia, Antonio, Bassanio and Shylock on the Merchant of Venice. The other worksheet is to set our own possible questions that are most likely to appear on our common test. Ms Malyanah let us watch the scene of merchant of Venice after that. We watched attentively and referred to the worksheet. After that Ms Malyanah told us to complete the traits and set the questions. Our remedial ended late as many students were not cooperating. Many students stayed back as they did not completed their learning log. I was lucky that I have completed mine.
Friday: Our common test had just started, but we still had our literature lesson. Mr Chua came in and told us to take our worksheet on the possible questions that will appear in the common test and told us to get out. We went to fourth floor at the empty space. He punished those who had not completed the questions. He told us to pair up with our friends and test each other. He also told us to grade each other questions. I got As. I was happy. After that we returned to class and Mr Chua told us to exchange our character traits paper with each other with the people in the same row. He told us to mark and grade. The bell rang and it was time for our English common test. I will end my post here.
